Why mass following?
You might ask me, "Does mass following still work in 2019?" Yes, yes, and yes again. And that's because:
- This is the cheapest way to promote Instagram;
- "real" people subscribe to you, and if you set it up correctly, you will get not just subscribers, but potential buyers;
- Thanks to this method, your profile's reach and views increase;
- Automatic services offer the ability to automatically send a message to a new subscriber—it could be a discount, a lead magnet, or simply a greeting;
- In the end, it saves a huge amount of time.
I was able to get between 300 and 3,000 subscribers per month thanks to automated services.
Everything, of course, will depend on whether your products/services are suitable for the Instagram audience, how well you know your target audience and competitors, and, finally, how well your profile is designed and whether the content is interesting.
Of course, this tool is considered a "gray" promotion method, as the social network's rules prohibit the use of services that imitate the actions of "real" people. However, while this still works on Instagram, it won't work on Facebook, Odnoklassniki, or Twitter.

What is it and how does it work?
Masliking And mass following – words that appeared in the lexicon of thousands of web marketers back in 2012. Back then, social networks were just gaining millions of users. The rise of affordable smartphones fueled the growth of Instagram and other platforms. Companies seeking a way to attract potential customers to their projects with minimal investment of time and, of course, money, followed suit. This is how they came to be:
- Masfollowing – Think about the translation of this word and everything will immediately become clear to you: follow – to follow (in our context, to subscribe), mass – a large number of something. Subscribing in large numbers – that's exactly it. The essence of the method is simple: you follow hundreds, no, even thousands of accounts. According to statistics, 2-30% users will view your profile in response. And half of them will happily subscribe to your "updates." Naturally, it's all based on simple human curiosity. The goal of the method is to increase the number of subscribers, and consequently, leads, potential clients, or buyers for their services and products. Some people just want a lot of followers. Maybe you're one of them?
- Masliking – the same as the previous term, but applies to likes on social media. Think back to your youth, when you'd like photos of dozens of classmates and they'd respond. Congratulations – you were already mass-liking back then, just on a small scale and without a goal. The goal of this technique, combined with mass-following, is to draw users' attention to your Instagram profile. In practice, these two methods work more effectively when used together.
This promotion method was highly effective about five years ago. Its effectiveness has significantly declined since social media began cracking down on mass-liking and mass-following. However, this doesn't change the fact that this technology is still widely used by web marketers and is one of the most cost-effective promotion methods.
Which social networks doesn't work?
Previously, you could promote your profile using mass liking and mass following. VKontakte And InstagramCurrently, these methods are only relevant for the second social network. VK bans people for "suspicious activity" if an account sends multiple friend requests. You can at least like the account, but the chances of people visiting your page after that are slim.
What about other social networks? Twitter, OK, Facebook? Honestly, I haven't heard of any such services for them. Although Twitter was the pioneer of this promotion technique... It's important for you to know that mass following and mass liking are most profitable on Instagram, although since 2016, there have been some pitfalls there that you should definitely consider when promoting. You don't want your favorite profile to get blocked, right? Then read on...
Strategies
So, let's get down to business, my friend. I'll tell you everything in more detail so you can decide what's best for you. There are two main strategies:
- manual labor (own or hired),
- automated.
The deciding factor will be the amount of money you're willing to spend on promotion. Got the money? Order a service from me ;). If you don't have the budget, you can do it yourself. Read on to find out how.
Manual labor
This method is suitable for those with no budget at all. You can simply follow your potential clients, like, and comment on their posts. This way, your reputation is safe and you won't be banned for "suspicious activity," as this is the most natural way to promote yourself on social media, encouraged by the administration. However, the effectiveness of independent mass following and mass liking will, of course, be much lower than using automated services.
If, on the other hand, your budget allows you to hire an assistant who will personally like, subscribe, and comment intelligently, this is an ideal option, but quite expensive.
Automatic services
If you have a minimal budget for account promotion, it's better to invest it in promotion using a specialized service. A program will do all the work you could do yourself, hundreds of times faster! Here are the advantages of paid programs and services for promoting social media pages:
- You will spend a little money, but you will save a huge amount of time.
- The program can search for users by hashtags and geolocations.
- Most modern programs and services are aware of Instagram's restrictions and use "smart" algorithms to avoid account blocking.
What does the result depend on?
If this is such a magical method, why is it so widely criticized and advised against? you might ask.
Like any automatic tool, it can be useful in the “skilled” hands of a specialist, but it can also cause “disaster”.
If you apply an automatic mass-following strategy to a new account without preparation, you can very easily get your account blocked, or even banned for life.

So, before you start, you need to know that you can promote your page through the use of mass liking and mass following, provided that you meet the following conditions:
- You've already designed your page and regularly fill it with content.
- You understand all the risks and know the limits.
- Not all users are “open” to such promotion methods.
- You know your target audience and what you can do to interest them.
- You know your competitors.
Be prepared for unfollowers. This is normal, don't let it upset you. There are plenty of such "smart guys" on Instagram; they also follow you in the hopes of attracting a potential client, and then unfollow you.
Followers are reluctant to follow accounts with large followings, as they understand they're dealing with a "mass follower." Furthermore, Instagram limits followers to 5,000.
Page design
You need to understand that one of the keys to success in our business is a well-designed page. The feedback you get from your followers depends on which posts appear first in your feed and your profile picture. Mass following and mass liking won't work with a dull or empty Instagram account. Your appearance and bio alone should attract people enough to follow your idea. Keep this in mind, and your likelihood of success will increase exponentially.
Instagram's anti-mass following campaign
When the technology first appeared, it was easy to use mass following and mass liking services on social networks like VKontakte, Facebook, and Instagram to aggressively promote one's profile.
Nowadays, automated promotion tools are only available on Instagram, although not as widely as before. You need to do everything carefully, adhering to the established limits. If you don't take into account that you're being monitored, you risk being blocked or even losing your account.
Instagram Masfollowing Limits and Rules for 2019
Different accounts have different limits. To begin with, it is not recommended to exceed 20 likes per hour / 480 per day, 40 subscriptions/unsubscriptions per hour / 960 per day.
Negative impact on users
Regular Instagram users have never been thrilled with aggressive online marketing. Keep in mind that any automation is a violation of the social network's rules and is considered a "gray" promotion method. If you're promoting a well-known brand's account, this method could seriously damage their reputation if the press and media find out about it.
Correct parameter settings
Depending on which automation service you choose, you'll have access to the following features for customizing your mass following and mass liking:
- to the competitor's subscribers (to do this you need to know the "enemy", as they say, by sight),
- people who posted a post with a hashtag (select hashtags that are popular among your potential customers, and the service will follow these people),
- geolocation (this method is suitable for companies with a physical address: restaurants or stores; you can follow people who have tagged a location near yours in their post).
For new accounts
Newly registered profiles are advised not to immediately start using automated services. To begin, gain about 100 followers without any software, inviting friends, family, and colleagues. During the trial period, use a manual strategy, actively following other accounts, liking and commenting on posts. You need to prove that you have a live, active account. After a month, you can gradually begin sending 50-100 follow requests daily. The same applies to mass-liking. You can try gradually increasing the number of accounts you follow, but the main thing is not to rush. Your goal is to reach 300-500 follows per day within three months.
If you've been blocked from performing any actions, don't worry. Just turn off all programs for a day and avoid any activity yourself. Then, tone it down a bit and get back on track eventually.
While automated services are running, don't log into your account. Instagram will immediately detect a login from a different IP address, assume you've been hacked, and block both IP addresses.
If you need to post something, it's best to disable automatic actions for the time being, or use the same posting service (if it offers this option). If not, you can use an auto-posting service via a proxy server. Just remember to specify the same proxy address in the mass-following service. The idea is to ensure that all account activity is performed from a single IP address. This will reduce the likelihood that Instagram will notice "suspicious activity" on your profile.
For older accounts, more than six months from creation
"Old guys" can do more from the start. It's a good idea if your profile is six months old and you're ready to use it to promote your idea. Then you can follow 400 accounts per day, and within a month, you can safely increase that number to 900. The same applies to likes.
If you've been mass following or maliking on your account before and haven't experienced any negative consequences, you can start with 700-900 right away.

Jet-insta is the most expensive service on the list. It's a cloud-only service with a fixed price of 1,400 rubles. It filters follow and like rates to prevent accounts from being blocked. It also offers highly customizable search and statistics. It costs one fee per account. Again, it's pricey, but reliable. Jet-insta is a veteran of the mass-liking and mass-following scene.
SocialHammer
It's hard to surprise you anymore, right? This service has been around since 2013, and you can create tasks for following, liking, and unfollowing, specify precise time and interval settings, and adjust the speed. Like its previous six "brothers," it can search for target audiences by hashtags and location.
