Today I'll share a short case study on improving behavioral factors on my culinary website, xcoffee.ru. In this post, I won't be discussing the importance of behavioral factors in SEO; I wrote about that in a previous post; if you're interested, follow the link. I'll get straight to the point.
Premium theme
This time, I managed to improve my metrics by installing a new template. Yes, I had to shell out a bit of cash and pay 3,800 rubles for the premium theme, but I have no regrets. The benefits of the culinary theme:
- nice adaptive design,
- SEO;
- separate fields for ingredients,
- the ability to publish a step-by-step recipe with photos,
- automatic micro-marking,
- view counter,
- rating with micro-markup,
- attention blocks and much more.
I've had bad experiences with premium themes before, which ultimately turn out to be too complex. Even the developers I asked to help me with the "monsters" I bought couldn't help me.
Based on my experience purchasing premium themes, I can offer a few tips, and by the way, this also applies to free themes and plugins (since the time you spend is also an irreplaceable resource that could be spent much more wisely, even on sleep):
- Be sure to check the presence and number of positive and negative reviews,
- If there are negative reviews, you need to look at the date and how quickly they were received, and what the developers responded to (this way you'll understand what to expect if problems arise, and they will arise in 99% cases).
- If you, like me, are not a developer, it is better to ask for help from someone who understands it.
The Impact of UX Design on Behavioral Factors
So, I'm providing a screenshot of the metrics for the period from January 22, 2019 to February 1, 2019 below, as the theme was installed on January 2. The screenshot shows the impressive results achieved with the new premium template.
I'm very pleased with the results, and I hope that the increase in rankings and traffic won't be long in coming. I'll be sure to let you know what the long-term impact will be.
Share this post on social media, I'd be grateful!
