Indeed, late payment may result in a fine of 10% of the amount due. During this declaration period, you could make as many corrective statements as you wish, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Forgot to check the box? Need to change your number? Did you forget to fill out a section? If you realize your error after the filing deadline, you have a choice: respond immediately or wait until the online correction service opens.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%91%d1%8b%d1%81%d1%82%d1%80%d1%8b%d0%b9_%d0%be%d1%82%d0%b2%d0%b5%d1%82\"><\/span>Quick response<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once the deadline has passed, you will no longer be able to access your tax return online. However, there is nothing stopping you from sending a message to the tax authorities via the secure messaging system of your personal account to notify them of any changes.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, your corrections will not be immediately taken into account when calculating your withholding tax rate and your contributions. You&#039;ll have to wait for the State Treasury to include these changes in the &quot;Managing My Income Tax&quot; section. Tax notices are available from the end of July.<\/p>\n<p>The faster you respond, the more likely you are to receive a tax notice that includes your corrections. If you filed a paper tax return with the tax authorities, you will need to correct it by filing a new Form 2042 and possibly its schedule, indicating that this return is an adjustment and that it cancels and replaces the previous one.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%92%d1%82%d0%be%d1%80%d0%be%d0%b9_%d1%88%d0%b0%d0%bd%d1%81_%d0%bd%d0%b0%d1%87%d0%b0%d0%bb%d0%be_%d0%b0%d0%b2%d0%b3%d1%83%d1%81%d1%82%d0%b0\"><\/span>Second chance, early August<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once tax notices are set, the tax office has been launching an online adjustment service since early August that allows taxpayers to review what they have declared. If you have used automatic declaration, the service is also open to you.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, unlike filing a tax return, this process cannot be completed from a smartphone or tablet. You will then be sent a new notification based on your corrections.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%9f%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b2%d0%be_%d0%bd%d0%b0_%d0%be%d1%88%d0%b8%d0%b1%d0%ba%d1%83_50_%d1%81%d0%bd%d0%b8%d0%b6%d0%b5%d0%bd%d0%b8%d0%b5_%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%be%d1%86%d0%b5%d0%bd%d1%82%d0%be%d0%b2_%d0%b7%d0%b0_%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%be%d1%81%d1%80%d0%be%d1%87%d0%ba%d1%83_%d0%bf%d0%bb%d0%b0%d1%82%d0%b5%d0%b6%d0%b0\"><\/span>Room for error: 50% reduction of interest for late payment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You won&#039;t be penalized by the 10 percent increase typically applied to taxpayers who don&#039;t file their income on time. However, if you adjust your income upward, late payment interest under CGI Section 1727 will apply. The rate is 0.2% per month or 2,40% per year.<\/p>\n<p>However, in accordance with the Essoc Law and as stated in Article 1727 V of the CGI, the General Directorate of Public Finance specifies that the amount of late payment interest is reduced by 50% when the taxpayer has voluntarily deposited the amended income tax.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%9e%d1%82_%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%be%d1%81%d1%82%d0%be%d0%b3%d0%be_%d0%b8%d1%81%d0%bf%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b2%d0%bb%d0%b5%d0%bd%d0%b8%d1%8f_%d0%b4%d0%be_%d1%80%d0%b5%d0%ba%d0%bb%d0%b0%d0%bc%d0%b0%d1%86%d0%b8%d0%b8\"><\/span>From a simple fix to a complaint<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After the Amend My Return online service closes in mid-December, you will no longer be able to amend your return at all. You will need to file a \u201cclaim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2919\"
