href=\"https:\/\/www.lassuranceretraite.fr\/portail-info\/portail-info\/home\/actif\/travailleur-independant\/veuvage\/formalites-administratives.html\">regional pension fund by letter.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Include his Social Security number, last name, first name, date and place of death. Monthly payments made after the month of death will be recovered.<\/p>\n<p>If there are unpaid amounts at the time of death, they can be transferred to the heirs (descendants, ancestors, collateral relatives, surviving spouses who are not divorced) upon presentation of documents.<\/p>\n<p>It is also important to disclose the death to other organizations on which your spouse depended. You may be eligible for widow&#039;s benefits.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%a3%d1%81%d0%bb%d0%be%d0%b2%d0%b8%d1%8f\"><\/span>Conditions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Your spouse must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be insured in the pension system for at least 3 months during the last 12 months before the month of death;<\/li>\n<li>Or be in one of the following situations: recipient of Allowance for Adults with Disabilities (AAH), unemployed, general pensioner, recipient of sickness benefit, maternity benefit, disability benefit, accident at work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be under 55 years of age;<\/li>\n<li>Not be divorced from the deceased and not be in a new marriage, cohabitation or registered partnership (Pacs);<\/li>\n<li>Have income below a certain level. Income for the 3 months preceding death is considered if the start of benefit payment is scheduled from the 1st day of the month of death. Otherwise, income for the 3 months before submitting the application is taken into account. Check <a href=\"https:\/\/legislation.lassuranceretraite.fr\/#\/bareme?file_leaf_ref=allocation_veuvage_plafond_ressource_bar.aspx\">payout limits<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Live in France (including overseas departments), Polynesia or New Caledonia (there are exceptions depending on your or your spouse&#039;s nationality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%a0%d0%b0%d0%b7%d0%bc%d0%b5%d1%80_%d0%b8_%d0%b2%d1%8b%d0%bf%d0%bb%d0%b0%d1%82%d0%b0\"><\/span>Amount and payment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The widowhood benefit is fixed but can be reduced depending on your income.<\/p>\n<p>The benefit is paid on the 20th of each month for 2 years from the 1st day of the month in which the death occurred. If you were under 50 years old at the time of your spouse&#039;s death, benefits can be paid until you are 55 years old.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%92%d0%b0%d0%b6%d0%bd%d0%be\"><\/span>Important<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If the situation changes (moving, marital status, income, etc.), notify your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lassuranceretraite.fr\/portail-info\/hors-menu\/footer\/contacts.html\">regional fund<\/a>to avoid incorrect pension calculations.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%d0%9f%d0%be%d0%b4%d0%b0%d1%87%d0%b0_%d0%b7%d0%b0%d1%8f%d0%b2%d0%ba%d0%b8\"><\/span>Filing an application<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Claims for widowhood benefits must be made within 2 years of the 1st day of the month of death. Benefit payments begin on the 1st day of the month of death if certain conditions are met. Otherwise, it is assigned from the 1st day of the month in which all conditions are met, but no later than 2 years after death.<\/p>\n<p>You can submit your application via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lassuranceretraite.fr\/portail-services-ng\/authentication\">your personal account<\/a>. It is provided from the age of 55 by your pension fund. After comparison with the general regime survivor&#039;s pension, you will be paid a more favorable amount for you. It can be increased under the same conditions as the survivor&#039;s pension.
